Regensburg: "Romantic Masterpieces" at Piano Metz

The pianist Lars David Kellner has made it his mission to bring exceptional keyboard instruments and their works back to the podium. And thus, not only an excellent concert grand piano awaits you in Piano Metz's "sound room" this evening - Lars David Kellner also demonstrates the sonority of his large harmonium.

The program includes late romantic harmonium works by Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sigfrid Karg-Elert and Max Reger. The evening will be framed by two large concert melodramas for recitation and piano.

This special concert will honor the spoken word as well as the music: Lars David Kellner's duo partner, Susanne Sperrhake, will read from letters by the above-mentioned composers, thus providing a glimpse into their emotional state of mind. In the musical form of melodrama, she can then be experienced as a reciter together with the piano. Words and music merge into a harmonious whole on this evening.
